The Downtown Line Art logo was commissioned by the Land Transport Authority for the Downtown Line Art-In-Transit Programme, Singapore's biggest public art initiative which commissions artworks for each upcoming SMRT Downtown Line train station.
The logo appropriates the 'town'/city portion of the Downtown Line route map and uses it as its symbol, as it visually suggests the typographic combination of the letters 'd' and 't'.
